| wow. i just caught a glimpse of cnn a few minutes ago and let me say...thank you Lord that i still have a job. some of the stats they mentioned:
-533,000 jobs lost in JUST november
-1.2 million jobs lost in the past 3 months
-1.9 million jobs lost this year and we still have one more month left
-Unemployment rate is at 6.7% and expected to reach 6.8%
-Analysts estimate that next year the unemployment rate will rise to 8.5%
-Under-employment rate, which includes part-time workers, is 12.5%, an all-time high. the only bright spots in the economy..jobs in healthcare and education. healthcare jobs actually grew this year. i forgot the exact number. at least something positive in this economy. i just feel bad for all the upper-classmen in colleges/universities out there. coming out of college and looking for jobs in this economy. anyways, so as the thanksgiving holiday passes, i'm reminded to really be thankful that not just me but my friends and family still have jobs during these hard times.

| anyone going out for black friday this year? i'm actually planning to go out for black friday this year with james aka oscar the grouch. this will be the first year that i'd be participating in black friday. i mean..ive went out just randomly in the afternoon on black friday to see if anything was left but never really woke up in the early morning and really PLAN to buy things. all i'm really planning to get are dvds....for right now . im planning to get the office, entourage, maybe 24, and some random movies. thats all that i think i'm going to get. just a lot of dvds. i was planning to get a new tv but there are no blockbuster deals out there for lcd tvs. all the black friday prices are prices that i can get throughout the year with random deals, coupons, and such. so oh wells, no tv. maybe later. maybe when i get married and ask the wifey to buy me one as an engagement gift. she gets a ring and i get a tv. and included with the tv, a lifetime subscription to nfl sunday ticket and a written contract to let me watch every football game without being bothered. that would be awesome!! okay sorry i digress... anyone want to come out and join our AWESOME black friday team? we can call ourselves "dave's AWESOME black friday team". |
